Our Beliefs

What We Care About
At Bethel we believe every person matters to God and has been created for a purpose other than making a paycheck and living for the weekends. Whether you go to church or not, we are passionate about helping you discover this purpose along life's journey. Here are five ways our church can benefit you.
We care about helping people know that God is closer and more personal than they think.
At Bethel we make it easy for you to discover who God is and how He is relevant to your life. We do this by helping you learn that God is not light years away and uninterested in the daily affairs of your life. God is longing for personal intimacy with you!
We care about helping people discover lifelong friendships and support systems.
Care doesn't happen in a crowd, it happens within small groups. At Bethel we care about connecting each person at our church with other people that share something in common. We all want a place to belong, and we all need friends who will support us during the rough times.  All of this happens best within a small group.  Check out our current Life Group line-up.
We care about helping people find ways to help other people.
God created each of us with our own unique gifts and talents. For this reason we care about helping you discover and use them to bless others.  It is not simply about filling space and time, it's about living out your purpose.  Serving others is one of life's greatest benefits! We are here to assist you as you discover your gifts and talents and put them to use in a meaningful and life-changing way.
We care about helping people take control of their financial situations to promote life change in others.
God has blessed each one of us to be a blessing. At Bethel we teach people how to improve their financial situations.  We are passionate about helping people learn how to be good managers of the resources God has given them. Finances can run you or you can run your finances. Get connected to a financial management Life Group that will teach you the basics of money management and how to get out of debt and give more to helping other people.
We care about the world being a better place.
At Bethel we strive to provide opportunities for people to make an impact on their community, nation and world.  We believe this begins with those who are closet to you, and extends far beyond that.  Learn more about how you can make an impact at home, in your community, or in mission fields that we currently support such as Africa and Haiti.

What We Value
We accept and respect each individual as God's unique and very special creation;
We honor the “free will agency” given by God that grants each man and woman the freedom to choose a spiritual destiny free from the intimidating forces of guilt, condemnation, or social coercion;
We preach, teach and experience spiritual life as found in the “born-again” experience;
We practice a Christian lifestyle of holiness of heart and spirit that causes us to be set apart from the world;
We believe the local church atmosphere should be one of love, acceptance, mercy and encouragement;
We honor all ministries and work done in the name of Jesus and we will not speak or act in a derogatory manner toward any other church, ministry or minister;
We give information to anyone regarding Bethel 's ministry but we do not proselyte anyone from another church;
We will not use anyone in any form of Christian service or activity who is a current member of another church; and,
We will only accept into church membership those who have chosen to leave their former church and have done so in a biblical manner.

What We Believe
We Believe in one God revealed to the world at different times and in different ways as Father, Son and Holy Spirit (Deuteronomy 6:4; John 1:1,14);
We Believe that Jesus Christ existed as God before He came to earth as a man born to a virgin named Mary; He lived a sinless life and by His death and the shedding of His blood He restored humanity's relationship with God. He came back to life bodily and He reigns in Heaven until all things are put under His control (I Timothy 3:16; Philippians 2:6);
We Believe in the absolute and complete inspiration of the Bible, given to men by God without error; the church has no power or authority to establish doctrine or practice contrary to the scripture which was accepted as “canon” (meaning measuring line, rule or law) by the early church (II Timothy 3:16);
We Believe the local church is independent and self-governing, yet it needs to voluntarily associate and cooperate with other churches and ministries endeavoring to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace until we come into a unity of the faith, a fuller knowledge of God and a greater measure of the fullness of Christ (Matthew 16:15-18; Acts 15:22-29; Acts 16:1-5; Ephesians 4:3,13);
We Believe in the full restoration of the New Testament Church. This restoration includes:
1.      the priesthood of each believer. All people spiritually reborn in God have equal status with Him; direct access to Him, and are being groomed for spiritual service to Him;
2.      a working concept of the Kingdom of God. We believe that the Kingdom of God is near, it is now, it is close, it is within us, it is righteousness, peace and joy in the Holy Ghost, it is the purpose of the Bible, the purpose of the church, the subject of the gospel, and that which every believer should seek after;
3.      an understanding that we are the body of Christ, His appointed and anointed representatives on earth. Jesus is the head but He needs His body to work out love, mercy and acceptance to a lost world (Ephesians 1:23; Romans 12:4);
We Believe that water, spirit and fire baptism is necessary for all believers, signifying death to self, growth in the spirit, and entrance into the His kingdom (John 3:3-5; Acts 2:38; Acts 14:22);
We Believe that the believer's life of victory over the temptations of the world and in spiritual warfare is more a result of letting Jesus live His life out through us than it is of our efforts in the flesh (Galatians 2:20);
We Believe it is the Father's will for believers to become whole, healthy and successful in all areas of life. But because of the fall, many may not receive the full benefits of God's will while on earth. That fact, though, should never prevent all believers from seeking the full benefits of Christ's provision in order to better serve others. These potential areas of success include the:
1.      Spiritual (John 3:3-11; II Corinthians 5:17-21; Romans 10:9-10).
2.      Mental and emotional (II Timothy 1:7, 2-11; Philippians 4:7-8; Romans 12:2; Isaiah 26:3).
3.      Physical (Isaiah 53:4,5; Matthew 8:17; I Peter 2:24).
4.      Financial (Joshua 1:8; Malachi 3:10-11; Luke 6:38; II Corinthians 9:6-10; Deuteronomy 28:1-14; Psalm 34:10, 84:11; Philippians 4:19);
We Believe in the literal return of Jesus Christ to the earth and His literal rule on earth. Believers and unbelievers will all appear before His judgment throne, believers will receive eternal life, unbelievers will be eternally separated from Him.
